Chat Commands

You can control Deathwish by typing in local chat. Spell commands go on channel /8, so the people around you don't see them. You must wear the Necrobane for commands to work.

Cast a spell

Type the spell, then a target, then a variant if the spell has one:

/8 <SPELL> <NAME or CAMERA> <VARIANT>

Type in local chat
/8 reject torley
/8 teleport torley shadow
/8 tomb torley
/8 sigil camera subduct
/8 reject
  • Short names work. /8 rej tor casts Reject on an avatar whose name starts with "tor".
  • No target? /8 reject opens the target menu, so you can choose.
  • camera as the target casts the spell where your camera is looking. /8 sigil camera subduct draws a Subduct sigil there.
  • The variant is optional. Only some spells have variants.

Make it a gesture

Put a command you use often into a gesture. Then one key casts the spell. How to make a gesture.

Shortcut for variants

You can join the spell and the variant into one word. These all work:

/8 tele.sha torley casts Teleport with the Shadow variant to Torley.

End your magic

Command What it does
/8 dispel Ends all of your active spells in the region, and cleans up everything they left behind.
/8 dispel confine Ends only the spells that match the word you type, here the Confine sigil.
Ctrl + D or /dispel The dispel gesture that comes with Deathwish. You can change its key in the gesture editor.

You can have up to 16 spells active at the same time.

The Necrobane's glow

This command uses channel /7, not /8.

Command What it does
/7 dwcolor <COLOR> Changes the color of the glow around the Necrobane.

Colors: red, green, blue, orange, yellow, pink, white, purple, black.

Command What it does
/8 help Opens this manual in your web browser.
/8 changes Opens the Deathwish changelog.

Check for updates: click and hold the Necrobane for more than 5 seconds.
