Getting started
I wear the HUD, but my powers do nothing.
Check that you also wear BOS_Attachment. It is invisible, but it holds the core scripts. Without it, your powers do not work. Also check the land where you stand. Most powers rez objects, so the land must let you rez objects and run scripts. A sandbox is a good place to test.
Where can I wear BOS_Attachment?
Anywhere on your avatar. It is completely invisible.
The HUD is in my way.
Click hide at the bottom of the HUD to minimize it. Click it again to open it. You can also attach the HUD to a different HUD position.
How do I see the other pages of the HUD?
Click the left and right arrows at the bottom of the HUD.
Casting
How do I choose a target?
Click a power that needs a target. A menu lists the avatars in the region. Choose one.
Someone is missing from the target menu.
The menu lists the avatars the book has found. On land where you cannot rez objects, it only finds avatars within 96 m of you. Move closer and try again.
Conceal Person or Reveal Person failed.
The target gets a request to allow animations. They must click Yes within 8 seconds. If they do not, the spell fails.
How do I stop a power?
Click End Spell at the bottom of the HUD.
Which powers work with Kill Zone?
Energyball, Fireball and Crossbow.
Does Vanquish work on no-push land?
Yes. Use it only with willing players. Griefing breaks the Second Life Terms of Service.
How do I add my own items to Conjuring?
Click Conjuring and choose Add. Use Delete to remove an item and Conjure to summon one.
Orbing
How do I save a place to orb back to?
Click Mark, choose an empty slot, and type a name in local chat. Then use Recall to orb back, from anywhere on the grid. Mark a place.
Recall opened the world map instead of orbing me.
The place is in another region. Click Teleport on the map to go there.
How do I orb to a spot I can't reach?
Click Sanctuary and accept the orb up to the platform. Click anywhere on the Elder Map to orb there, or click an avatar's icon to orb beside them.
Hidden chapters
Where are the Crystal Cage and the telekinesis script?
Inside the conjured book. On the Spells page, click Call: Book of Shadows, then left-click the book and choose a chapter. Hidden Chapters.
The telekinesis script ignores me.
It only listens to the owner of the object. Put it into an object that you own, and use channel /5.
Recall does not move my object.
If you unfroze the object, freeze it first. Then recall it.
Recall sent my object to the wrong place.
Summon also marks the object, which replaces your earlier mark. Mark the object again where you want it to return.
How do I free someone from the Crystal Cage?
Type /5 end.
Your copy
How do I update?
Detach BOS_Attachment and wear it again. If an update exists, it is given to you automatically. This works from version 3.0 onward. An update you received in the last 12 hours is not sent again.
My version is older than 3.0.
Contact Arcanum support for a manual update.
