Casting
Nothing happens when I cast.
Check that you are wearing the Necrobane. The HUD and the chat commands only send orders to the scepter. Without it, no spell works.
My commands do nothing.
Check three things: the channel (/8 for spells, /7 only for dwcolor), the spelling, and that you are wearing the Necrobane. Also check that scripts are allowed on the land where you are standing.
My spells don't appear in this place.
The land probably does not allow scripts or building. Try in a sandbox. Where magic works.
How do I cast at a spot instead of an avatar?
Choose CAMERA as the target. The spell goes where your camera is looking. Hold Alt and click the spot first.
My spells disappear after a while.
That is normal. Spells end by themselves after 60 seconds (a few special spells last up to 5 minutes), when you leave the region, or when you log out. This keeps the region clean.
My camera acts strange after Conjure Skull.
Dispel the spell, then cast it again.
Grave Portal makes me click to travel.
With RLV turned on in your viewer, travel takes one click. See RLV.
Spells and sigils
How do I aim Necro Needles and Spirit Blast?
Use mouselook (press M). For Necro Needles, you can also turn your camera while the needles fly to steer them.
How do I stop a zombie from walking away?
Click the zombie to open its menu. You can stop it, let it walk again, or send it back to hell. If it wanders about 45 m away, it comes back to you on its own.
How do I keep a torch in one place?
Click the torch to make it stay where it is. Clicking a torch is also how you remove it.
My sigil is too small or too big.
Click on the sigil and drag outward to make it bigger, or inward to make it smaller. This works even while the sigil is active.
Someone's sigils or spells are in my way.
A Necro Needles super explosion cancels all Deathwish magic in its blast. Aim all of your needles at one point.
Ending magic
How do I stop all my magic at once?
Type /8 dispel, click Dispel on the HUD, or press Ctrl + D.
Can I end just one spell?
Yes. Add its name: /8 dispel confine ends only your Confine sigils.
Can I change the dispel shortcut key?
Yes. The dispel gesture is in your inventory. Open it and change its shortcut key or trigger word. About gestures.
The Necrobane
How do I change the glow color?
Type /7 dwcolor and a color, for example /7 dwcolor purple. Colors: red, green, blue, orange, yellow, pink, white, purple, black.
How do I check for updates?
Click and hold the Necrobane for more than 5 seconds.
I lost my Deathwish.
Get a new copy for free. Sign in to your account and press Redeliver, or touch the Arcanum Terminal at The Arcanum.
